4th November: Karibu Guesthouse, Entebbe

On arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be met and assisted through immigration and customs and out to your awaiting driver to take you the short distance across to Karibu Guesthouse for your first night.

5th November: Travel to Bwindi

After a leisurely morning relaxing at the hotel and exploring Entebbe, you will be transferred across to the domestic airport for your 1200 flight to Kihihi airstrip, arriving at 14h15 where you will be met and driven approx two hours to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Buhoma Lodge, your home for the next three nights.

5th to 8th November: Buhoma Lodge, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

On the following morning of the 6th, you will wake early to have a good breakfast before setting off to walk the short distance across to the meeting point to start your gorilla trek.

Prior to departure you will be given a briefing by park staff, assigned a gorilla family to visit and rangers to guide you. Gorilla tracking timings and conditions vary tremendously as the gorillas move continuously through the rain forest. It is good to be prepared and remember the weather can change with very little warning. The terrain is often steep and through areas where there are no marked paths. Your trek may be just a couple of hours but it can also be for a full day of up to 8 hours or more of hiking.

You will be allowed up to one hour for viewing of the gorillas from when they are sighted by your group. This is to ensure that they are not over exposed to humans. Whilst in their presence you will also be required to keep minimum distances from them – generally between 5-7 metres and your guides will ensure this is enforced.

8th November: Depart

This morning you will be transferred back to the airstrip to meet your flight departing at 09h45 to Entebbe, arriving at 11h25 to connect with your international flight to Nairobi in the afternoon. NOTE: IF you have time / flights are on time etc we will arrange an excursion outside the airport.
