17th October: Four Points by Sheraton, Nairobi

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport on British Airways BA65 at 20h45, a driver from the hotel shuttle service will be waiting as you exit the baggage reclaim area with a sign board, to whisk you across to the Four Points by Sheraton, about a 5 minute drive from the airport.

18th October: Fly to Laikipia

This morning, you will be collected from Four Points by a driver from ‘Airports & Beyond’ who will be at your disposal for the morning - before taking you across to the Sheldrick elephant orphanage in the National Park for the 11h00 viewing (please note you will need to pay park fees on arrival). At midday, he will whisk you across to Wilson Airport to check-in for your Safarilink scheduled flight departing at 13h30. On arrival at Loisaba airstrip at approx 14h50 you will be met by a guide from Tumaren and transferred approximately 1.5 hours, mostly game driving, to Camp in time to settle in to your tent and enjoy a cool drink/cup of tea before setting off on an evening adventure.

Tumaren Camp

4 Nights

18th to 22nd October: Tumaren Camp, Laikipia

Set on the edge of a wide plain this beautiful camp looks west towards granitic inselbergs that define the local landscape. Each tent is furnished uniquely and all the tents offer sweeping verandas from which most of our plains game can be spotted. The grasslands are rich with wildlife and you can spend hours watching animals wander by or photographing the huge variety of birds coming to the bird bath.

Tumaren is rich in wildlife and our Samburu and Masai guides provide a great perspective on not only the game but also the local cultures of Northern Kenya. Our guides will plan your stay according to your desires, wildlife and the local calendar. Each day can include guided walks, swimming in the 20m pool looking out at the wildlife coming to drink at the waterhole, camel rides, visits to the camel creche, game drives, birdwatching, picnics, tracking, visiting a local manyatta/market (if the day is right), visiting a school and rock climbing.

22nd October: Fly to Lamu

This morning, you will be transferred back across to Loisaba airstrip to meet your Safarilink flight departing at 11h25, you will fly via Wilson Airport Nairobi where you will change aircraft, to depart for Lamu at 14h00. On arrival at approx 16h15 you will be met by a representative from Manda Bay who will take you on a beautiful boat transfer through the mangroves, to the resort.

22nd to 26th October: Manda Bay, Lamu

Manda Bay is a small privately owned boutique lodge located on the northern tip of Manda Island in the Lamu archipelago on Kenya’s coast. An unspoilt, secluded location where you can switch off from the rest of the world, take your shoes off and enjoy simplistic beauty in palm thatched cottages and open living spaces. Manda Bay combines the ultimate bush and beach experience with miles of soft white sand on a private beach and Coconut palms mixed with Doum palms, Acacia Tortilis and a variety of wildlife.

Activities include kayaking, sailing, windsurfing & SUP boarding. Also available but at an extra cost are deep sea fishing, all motorised activities, snorkelling & applicable conservation fees, spa treatments, archaeological visits, Lamu excursions & tours and a Dhow cruise.

26th October - Fly to Nairobi. Depart

This afternoon after lunch, you will be transferred by boat back across to Lamu Airport to check-in for your Safarilink flight departing at 16h45. On arrival at Wilson Airport, Nairobi at approx 18h55 you will be met by a driver from ‘Airports & Beyond’ who will be at your disposal until your evening departure from Jomo Kenyatta Airport on British Airways BA64 at 23h55.
