KARISIA Classic WALKING SAFARI
3 nights
13th to 15th June: Karisia Classic Walking Safari
Our walking safaris traverse beautiful landscapes that tell the story of a turbulent geologic past alongside the Rift Valley. Archeological artifacts like flints, shards, graves and pottery litter the ground, evidence of an equally rich cultural history. Here you will be able to explore each day on foot with your guide before returning to the privacy and comfort of your private camp in the Bush.
The Classic walking safari with camels is a journey and the camp moves daily to new settings with the help of our team and camels (10-25 camels depending on the group size). The 4 poster bed is left behind, but the king size mattress, feather pillows and duvet are not. Your accommodation is in a large, traditional, canvas tent with chairs, a table, a mirror, drinking water and a basin on the veranda. The luxurious bedding includes 2 pillows, sheets and duvets, dressing gowns, towels, hot water bottles, solar lights and carpets. On request we can include camp beds and if you want a family style tent, we can join two tents together making the children feel secure. You can request for a safari bucket shower that comes with plenty of hot water and there is a toilet behind each tent.
Meals are freshly prepared each day with breakfast and dinner served at the table and lunch is an informal buffet-style. We can cater to any dietary requirements. A wide choice of beer, wines and spirits are included for those who love to have their taste of alcohol in the wild.
16th June: Laikipia
Early morning wake-up with steaming water in your basis and pressed coffee before heading out on your walk to Tumaren Camp. The bird-songs are almost deafening and you will be looking for fresh tracks from the night to follow and see which animals have been close by during the night. After breakfast, you will keep going onto Tumaren Camp.
TumareN Camp

16th June: Tumaren Camp
Set on the edge of a wide plain this beautiful camp looks west towards granitic inselbergs that define our local landscape. Each tent is furnished uniquely and all the tents offer sweeping verandas from which most of our plains game can be spotted. The grasslands are rich with wildlife and you can spend hours watching animals wander by or photographing the huge variety of birds coming to the bird bath.
