KARISIA LIMITED WALKING SAFARIS

A Walking Safari is the ideal means by which to travel through Kenya. Escape the constraints of a vehicle and lose yourself in Kenya's stunning wilds. We walk where no car will go, exploring new country every day with camels as our friendly beasts of burden. Our guides are fluent in natural history, English, Swahili, Maa, the local culture as well as providing a luxurious adventure. Every day is unique and every safari is custom designed to suit different interests. We offer three basic kinds of walking safari, a Luxury Walking Safari, a Samburu Led Walking Safari or an Expedition Walking Safari and these only differ slightly in cost and level of extravagance.

What to Bring on a Walking Safari

The following itineraries can be guided as a Samburu Led Walking Safari a Luxury Walking Safari or an Expedition Walking Safari. Please have a look at the following trips. Remember that they are only examples and that, should you want to book a walking safari we will want to talk to you to create your own itinerary based on your own interests. It is also important to note that some safaris such as those in the Mathews or Karisia Hills take a few days for our team to assemble. This cost supplements the daily rates listed. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.

 

Unlike a vehicle-based safari, a walking safari allows the traveller to enjoy a more intimate insight into Kenya's animals and its people. Join us for a safari of a lifetime!

In order to view these safaris in Google Earth you must download the free software here. Another option is to get a 'plug in' for a browser like Firefox or Explorer 6/7. After you have downloaded these you can download the above files, either saving them to open (say to your desktop) or choosing to open them with Google Earth in the dialogue box that is generated when you press the above safari KMZ files. Whats more is that now you can also upload these files to your own GPS and know where you are as you walk.

These itineraries were made for past trips and should be used as a reference as we will want to speak to you about your own interests and depending on those and the weather, custom make a trip to comfortably suit your specific goals.
